Poor Little Animals, Animal Rights #1

To many people today, animals are nothing more than pets for children or just for one's amusement, a mere form of education or even worse just for annoyance. Spend 24 hours locked in a tiny room with barely enough space to move your arms, with no privacy, and nothing at all to do to pass the time, and maybe then you will have a taste of what animals go through. Whether in safari parks, zoos, roadside displays, or petting zoos. They are at the bottom of the heap in the zoo world.


Some animals enrage at the feeling of being cage or imprisoned, relentlessly clawing at the bars. While others, have succumbed to the endless routine of boredom and show little interest toward anything at all. The high demand for cute baby animals, particularly for photography purposes, leaves adult animals with nowhere safe to go. Many of them get sold off at auctions, used for hunting, or even slaughtered for exotic meats. Could it get any lower than that? Even with practically the whole world aware of what animals are going through, there is little anyone is doing about it. There are so few agriculture inspectors to oversee thousands, maybe even billions of breeders, dealers and exhibitors. Even so, inspections are carried out roughly once a year, and sometimes even less frequently with minimal standards of concern.
It is perfectly legal to keep a monkey in a tiny cage for his or her entire life or provide a 10-foot, 600 pound tiger with only a fraction of living space of an average housecat.


More breeding does nothing to help the wild populations but merely adds to the number of surplus animals out there. The excess number of big cats such as lions, leopards and tigers discovered is staggering to say the least.
People often fail to give animal the respect and rights they deserve, they are treated as lifeless and emotionless scientific creatures that we discard at our own convenience. Some of these animals come from small shelters or even worse from their own front yard. If you have a pet, imagine your pet being shoved in a cage along with 10 other animals aimlessly waiting to die for no real reason at all due to numerous scientific tests. Before these animals die, they are routinely burned, scalded, poisoned, starved, electrocuted, drugged, subject to near freezing temperatures, dosed with radioactive substances and driven insane. Some are even deliberately infected with deadly deseases such as cancer, diabetes, multiple kinds of infections, syphilis, herpes and etc. Hopefully some day there will be a way that animals can get the respect they deserve.

China! The Best Place/s to Go #2

Hows's everybody doing? Hope everyone is doing good. Last year I got the opportunity to visit China just one month before my SPM with my whole family. I found it weird that my parent's asked me to go just before my exams but I got their permission so I guess it's cool. So we left KLIA and arrived at Shanghai first then we got on a bus to Suzhao.

That's one part of my family at the airport in China and that man in the brown leather jacket was our tour guide. So on the way to Suzhao, we met our tour guide named Mr David,

and that's Mr David, he speaks pretty good english and on the way to Suzhao he was explaining a lot of the history of China to us which was really interesting. We arrived at Suzhao pretty late so we headed to our hotel first and head to bed. Woke up in the morning went downstairs to have breakfast. One thing anyone going to any part of china might want to know, getting food is like a war. Everyone swarms around the food like hungry wolves, if example a plate of bread or meat lands on the buffet table. Other people won't take their time and walk there, they RUN there and snatch every last bit of food they can get. They even use their chopsticks and take it off your plate sometimes. So didn't get much to eat on the first day but I learnt from then. Only time we could get food was when everyone was gone. After breakfast we headed to some place called The Couple's Garden Retreat, it was an enourmous garden that seemed almost like a town to me. It is a fairly large garden divided into three parts--a central living area flanked by an east and west garden. It is bordered on three sides by canals, with docks on the north and south sides permitting entrance from the waterways.

This is one tiny part of the garden but it's just so you can get an idea of what it looks like. It was nice walking around there and also a plus because the season was nearing winter so it was cold.

That's where we got down then we continued walking to the tallest temple in the garden where from the top you could see EVERYTHING.

The view from the top. We continued walking around the garden after this until we reached the exit. Headed to our bus then we headed to Hungzhao. After a few hours, we arrived at Hungzhao and checked in to our hotels and hit the sack. Nexy day woke up went out for breakfast. Then we headed to the Hungzhao lake, it was around 8 in the morning so the sun wasn't really up and it the weather was really really really cold. All I could see was a thick fog. Around the lake is actually something like a park where you see plenty of tourists an people going for their morning walks. We took a boat across the river.

The boat which we took across the lake, this was taken earlier in the morning, check out the fog. It was actually thicker when we just got there. It was so cold, I could see myself breathe. So now we headed for the temple, I can't really recall the name I apologise.

BAM! It was freezing up there. I was in three layers of clothing! And I was still shivering. Inside the temple was a mini museum of ancient artifacts and such. Weapons, armour, clothing, really old literature etc. OH there is something that stood out to me.

As soon as I stepped into Wuzhen, I saw an OLD man performing some aecrobatic stunts but he was on a tall bamboo........ You don't see that everyday. 

Yea, you definitely don't see an old man doing a plank on a tall bamboo everyday. Conclusion, don't mess with china people, they're strong. We had a tour guide explaining to us the ancient history of Wuzhen, we went into different parts of Wuzhen, each with their unique history.

I'm sure many people are familiar with this. It's a machine people back then used to make silk clothes from.

After this we left Wuzhen and went to grab some dinner since it was getting late. After dinner we headed back to our hotel for some sleep. Next day we took our tour bus back to Shanghai. We only arrived at Shanghai at night so we got dinner in and went to catch a ferry ride. Shanghai is amazing atnight because the whole city is so colourful. Lights everywhere!

That's the TV Tower. It's the tallest tower in China. We visited that the next day.

After the ferry ride we headed back to our hotel and hit the sack. Next day, got up, breakfast, left to see the TV Tower. It was designed by the Shanghai Modern Architectural Design Co. Ltd. Principal designers are Jiang Huan Chen, Lin Benlin and Zhang Xiulin. Construction began in 1990 and the tower was completed in 1994. It is 1535 feet tall. The tower has fifteen observatory levels. The highest (known as the Space Module) is at 1148 feet. Me being curious immediately went as high as I could to see if it was really THAT high. The lift that took us up was really cool because it moves really really fast. In 1 second it moves past 4 floors. So I reached the level of the Space Module. It didn't seem that bad, until I went out ofcourse where the floors were transparent.

After that we left for dinner. Then went back to the hotel to rest abit then went out for shopping!

Next day we left for the airport cause we were heading home, how sad ;(

Well basicly that's it, would definitely recommend everyone to give China a shot if they get the chance. Many things to enjoy there.

The Best Place/s to Go #1 PENANG!

ELLO AMIGOZZ!!!

How time flies. It's already the third week of college! Getting used to class, classmates, lecturers AND waking up super early in the morning. Noticed my past two post were a little short of enthusiasm and LIFE. So trying to kick the writting up a notch, some how... Anyway on to the topic of the week, The Best Place/s to Go? So many what to choose or better yet, where do I start? Guess I will start with something local like Penang. People say travelling is only enjoyable when it's overseas and well that's not all true, Penang is an awesome place to visit. 

Penang is a good four and a half hour drive, ATLEAST from Kuala Lumpur (KL). Two ways of getting to Penang, one of which is the ever so long Penang Bridge which is the picture above, or by ferry.

I honestly am not very familiar with the history of penang because when I think of Penang, only one thing comes to mind, FOOD!!!!!! I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that way. Some people who haven't been to penang probably wonder what's there to eat in penang? Well to start off there's the ever famous Penang Char Kuey Teow. It is so well known that it is called PENANG Char Kuey Teow.

Big prawns, oysters and just an overall different taste. It's hard to put to words what is different about it but it IS. There is only one shop I go to when I'm in penang for Char Kuey Teow which is

Kafe Heng Huat! Amazing thing about this shop is, there is only ONE chef, ONE. Another interesting thing you might want to know is because the char kuey teow is so good, YOU have to line up to order and wait for it to be done. They will not bring it to you, you just order and wait there. There will always be a long line at the shop. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone heading to penang. Oh and this shop also has insanely good ice kacang. Just writting about it makes me hungry. Damn.

Next place to go to for food in Penang is New Lane, which is very nearby to Sunway Hotel.
When I go to New Lane I usually only target two things. Which are yummy Fried Oyster Omelette and Honey Chicken Wings. The Fried Oyster Omelettes are the best thing in the whole wide world, take my word for it!

I know it doesn't look that good to some but trust me, IT'S GOOD ALRIGHT. Moving on to the Honey Chicken Wings. 

These things are the bomb. I eat like 5 plates of this everytime I go there. Thank god for having metabolism that runs like a furnace. Makes me able to eat like a fat kid and never get fat. Yay for me. On a random note, one reason I do not like Penang. They only speak chinese which I do not speak. Yes I'm a banana (chinese who can't speak chinese). Well that's basicly it for Penang. I apologise that it's only about food because that is really what most people go to Penang for. I will update this post if I can get more ideas on Penang.
